Our brains were on withdrawal from some powerful chemical assists that made us relax into all those months of pregnancy. No one gets to skip this post-birth slog. There will come a day when Oona and you have a kick-ass day together, when she starts to feel competent at being alive and you start to feel better and more capable than you have ever felt before.
