California Avenue. Many of the streets running east-west in Santa Monica are named after states. North of Wilshire: California, Washington, Idaho, and Montana. No idea why they skipped Oregon. Interestingly, several change state names when they cross Centinela. Pennsylvania becomes Iowa, Colorado becomes Idaho. There WAS an island, not just a big rock. My buddies and I used to frequent Jackās during college when I lived on Arizona. That was before I met your mother who lived on Idaho at the time. This was a well stated post! Thank you!
